Morning Light“Morning Light”

These hills that I’ve traversed
Within each and every verse
Have led me to believe
In all the things I see
And where I am right now
I could never imagine how
I have gotten myself to stand
On my own two feet again

I thought I could never dream
Or at least in what I mean
Or maybe this is fake
And these thoughts I can not shake
So sad and unaware
Bad thoughts are always there
Floating in my head
Taunting me instead

I don’t want to be naïve
And believe in what I see
But this thing called pressure
Is more than I can measure
Anxiety never disappears
Even though the ones I fear
Have finally gone away

funeral marchwe are an emotion in utero.

if our emotions really left our souls last night, i wonder what remained? watched the coffins roll by this morning; that will always haunt me. then again, i figured you were my funeral march. it just surprises me that i was also yours.

i can still hear it now..."you are so alone and tormented; your emotions swing like a pendulum...is there no end to your abyss? although it fades, it's always there, plummeting down it's spiral; an empty million miles. miles of your nothingness. your nothingness. you're nothingness. the something made of all that is nothingness."

Truth of the MatterFrostbitten kisses stretched over bare, bloody nerves

I feel them whenever I hear

This isn't right

Or

I could do better,

Knowing full well that I could never

Live up to words that sail like unwanted ships

Wrecked along the shorelines of another being's heart.

So I rattle the bars of my fools’ crib instead

Like a hate-bitten child, shaking my head

And bemoaning

A talent

That has never been mine to make use of.

DriftwoodLove and forgetting
might have carried us
but impulse led us
to follow the washout

Each slide of the earth beneath our footsteps
poured forth more nights of longing
and left rocks at our sides for comfort

Love and forgetting
might have carried us
but resentment left us
too curious to stop our descent

Sanctuaryi have something to say
about someone who came my way
seen my flaws
heard my tears
as we talk
it seem like years
with shared thoughts
familiar fears
what could it be
that binds us
bringing us together
making my heart beat
my emotions feel
this is real matrimony
i can't control it
love carrying its own will
im so filled
energy
light
darkness out of sight
i can sleep tonight
could i tell her
that i love her
that i would like to be
more than just
trying not to thrust
i would adjust
if it was a must
i know i can trust
she is my soul mate
her eyes
resurrect me
can this be
my sanctuary

Winter HeartWhat should I call you?
Friend? – Lover? – Enemy?
It doesn’t matter, because
A term is just a word and
Makes no difference to the heart

Whose strings have been plucked
For the last time, left broken and
Discarded on a hospital floor, not
Fit for the transplant unit – and
Not good enough for you.

In the worst way I said
“I think I love you”
You turned away, and I knew that
That was it for us – my heart turned
To ice that day –

Ice which splinters through the
Delicate rose petals, shredding
And destroying what was once
Beautiful and innocent – but roses

Rain reflectsYou walk around, your leg throbbing, slightly confused… how did I get here? Your heart beats in your chest intensely and rapidly; sweat drips off your forehead. Your vision become’s steady and your eyes focus on the forest floor. Your knees give in and you collapse onto your back, through the branches you see glistening light, beaming through the leaves, coating you in a yellow glow. Where am I? You attempt to stand, slightly painful but bearable. You look down at your bare feet as they lead you forward, through the trees, Who am I? You open your hands and look thoroughly at your fingers; you move them up closer to your face and

Come hither and let thy feet wander free.
A place where thy soul wilt finally find peace.
A place where thy suffering wilt finally cease.

Come hither, never wonder what thy want to be.
Thy wilt? Take this knife, stab thyself in thy chest.
Thy knows what thy want.
Thy knows what knows what is best.

Come hither and let the both of us flee.
Let thy pain explode in thy system of vines.
Don't ever look back, leave it all behind.
Rip out my heart and let the blood flow.

Nobody has the answers
But everybody has the Y’s.

Speculations of a faultless green pasture,
Based on a line of best fit that was drawn to lie.

The solution is a sequence of random numbers and dates.
In addition to a complicated sum of love, grief, fear and hate.

Which form a unique equation that can never be revealed.
It’s the only bit of ignorance that still remains concealed.

Even though we may feel defenseless.

The possibilities are endless.

The opportunities are relentless.

Opinions become senseless

And still we lie restless.

Attempting to solve the unsolvable

And control the uncontrollable.

The Path To InsanityEyes of green flame and smile of barbed wire
Insanity is a muse of toxic smoke and fire
Clawed fingers snap striking fear to the bone
Always choosing those who are utterly alone
A question is asked with a blood-curdling scream
Do you dream to forget or forget in order to dream?
Answer quite carefully even though neither is wrong
Insanity does not care where you think you belong
The sum of your character, your flaws and your fear
To insanity all are immediately clear
A forked path is before you and it is your choice
Either deny this demon or into submission give voice
This savage darkness will happily eat you alive
So choose very wisely if you

Broken LoveFractured fingers of splintered ice
Through the heart do swiftly slice
Like shards of sharp broken glass
Easily frozen if you do it fast
Tears are only but salty water
Leading you to bloody slaughter
So quickly now, before you bleed
Give up this stupid childish need
Love is nothing but a dream
It shall only make you scream
So give it up and toss it far away
There’s nothing but pain if you go that way
So run, hide quickly in sanity’s hills
For some love does not save, it only kills

Call me HellCall me Hell
Because I'll burn you with one look
Call me Heartless

(But I would rather I get to deal the final blow)

You could of died yesterday

Because I refuse to believe in your world

He took photographs
as if he were loving
with a broken heart—
Slowly,
cautiously,
Careful set up—
The lighting soft
To smooth the harsh shadows
The colors just right
Sighing against the eye
The model all wrong,
Yet interminably perfect.

He took photographs
as if he were taking a life
Or in the way you fall asleep
or fall in love—
“Slowly, then all at once.”

When he took my photograph,
he also took my breath
and the beat my heart skipped.

This beast can be inside anyone
Don’t watch the smile, the smile lies
Look deeply, deeply into the eyes
And even then you cannot be sure
This beast is cunning and has allure
Many have died within its embrace
This monster behind a very kind face
My only advice is politically incorrect
But would you rather reap regret?
Trust must be earned and seen very clear
Innocent? No, not until proven my dear

Lady Raven

Lady Raven stands on the roof top ledge
Black gleaming eyes peering over the edge
Beautiful dusky feathers are tinged with red
And bones show through where she has bled
Her wings are broken and useless now
From stones and rocks thrown at her brow
Just some wicked child's ruthless game
Who taught such a thing should die of shame
Somehow she manages to still stand tall
Upon the edge of this man-made wall
Lady Raven then jumps into the air
And spreads her broken wings with flair
She plummets down towards the earth
Slightly gliding on the wind's wide berth
Broken body meets soil in a cry of pain
Then there is nothing to feel again
Although Lady Raven was driven to die
For one last time she was able to fly
